Favorable Centering & Good Chip Removal with YG's NC Spotting Drill. These Numerical Control (NC) spot drills are high-precision drills that can execute cutting operations on any NC/CNC machines. YG's NC spotting drills with stub length and minimum flutes are ideal for centering holes and secondary drilling operations. Available spot drills in 90° and 120° points are mostly used to create an initial spot for 118° and 135° secondary drills respectively. Chamfering of holes is also possible with the chisel-type tool design. The tool material is made up of HSS with 8% cobalt that provides rigidity, and the spotting motion is unlikely to deflect. The tool is best suited on most workpieces materials including Steel, Stainless Steel, Non-Ferrous, Cast Iron, Plastics. This spot drill tool has tight tolerance point geometry with cutting diameter tolerances ranging +0.000 / -0.006 inches. Spot drills do not have body clearance. They are designed not to drill deeper holes than the depth of the point angle. YG's NC spotting drills come in nine different sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 1 inch. With each variant, you get different short flute lengths and varying overall tool lengths.
