Switch to Starrett's Custom Welded Bandsaw Blades for Economical Cutting. Made from carbon steel with a flexible back, Duratec series of bandsaw blades is ideal to work on easy-to-machine ferrous or nonferrous metal and wood. It is light on budget as it fulfills most cutting needs relating to economic production, and fits well on most types of band saw machines. Cutting thinner sections requires a finer pitch (more teeth per inch). Thicker sections require coarser pitches (fewer teeth per inch). Choose a coarser pitch if the speed of cut is more important. Go for a finer pitch if finish is more important. Starrett's trademarked Duratec Flex-Back bandsaw is available in a wide range of widths, thickness, pitches and welded-to-length sizes for general purpose contour and straight cutting on a variety of machines. Items available in variety of pitches (teeth per inch) include 6/S, 8/S, 10/S, 14/S, 18/W, 24/W, 2/P, 4/P, 6/P; where P stands for positive rake, W for wavy set & S for straight (zero) rake. Duratech FB bandsaw variants come in tooth type: Regular, Skip, Hook/HP, Hook/LP and offer different cut applications. A 'hook' teeth type offers a positive rake for fast cutting of non-ferrous metals and non-metallics. 'Regular' teeth type is used for general purpose sawing, straight or zero rake, whereas 'Skip' teeth type provides zero rake and shallow gullets for cutting large sections of soft, non-ferrous material. In any ideal circumstances, Duratech FB bandsaw will work well on machines not running more than 10,000 surface feet per minute (SFM). Starrett has been known for high quality, precision measuring tools & saw blades since 1880. The company has successfully carried forward its legacy through constant innovations in offering various types of bandsaw blades to be used across various industries for specific cutting applications. Get more life out of these Starrett carbon bandsaw blade every time you use it!
