High Performance Tap for a Variety of Materials. SG series of spiral bottoming taps from Nachi is a high-performance low spiral fluted tap with a right-hand cutting direction. The premium cobalt / vanadium high speed steel construction ensures superior performance at high speeds. While the thread area is coated with black oxide for heat and wear resistance, the square shank of the tap has a smooth surface finish. SG coating is combination of TiN and TiCN and is dense quality film for specific use of tap. It goes on to improve wear resistance and toughness by using fine multilayer film. Due to shallower flute passage in spiral point taps than conventional taps, the inherent advantages of using spiral point taps include faster chip evacuation, efficient thread quality, and higher tapping speeds. SG series have high rigidity of stress concentration and high breaking torque. And so, it hardly breaks. Spiral point taps are known for their versatile applications.
