ZELX SS Series of Spiral Pointed Plug Taps for stainless steels, alloy steels and ductile irons. This high performance plug taps from YMW is made from Vanadium high-speed steel that guarantees to deliver high performance tapping on almost any material. This high-speed steel series of spiral pointed plug taps is available in black oxide coated models. The special coated models offers better heat resistance to deliver high-performance deep hole tapping. The heat resistant coating improves tool life and can be used without coolant. The two/three straight flute design, and stainless steel tool material ensures superior performance on any workpiece material. The models are available in over 40 different metric sizes 12 mm x 1.75 mm & below inch sizes of 3/4 inch -12 & below. The square shank of the tap is designed for superior grip during machine held applications. Slow spirals helix angle (0-degree) are used for non-ferrous materials. YMW Vanadium HSS series taps are designed to operate on workpiece made up of 303, 304, 410 stainless steel and 8740 (SNCM240). They are also better to tap a thread in a hole where there is a break in the material. It makes it an ideal choice for cutting standard screw threads.
