Make that Socket-head Screw Fit Tight on Workpiece with Weldon's Countersinks & Deburring Tool. Presenting a new style of specialty tool from Weldon is a straight shank, double-ended countersinks & deburring tool. Made from High Speed Steel, it is used to enlarge the opening of a hole on a wide range of workpiece material, producing a flat bottom for a socket-head screw to fit flush with the surface. Countersinks have a greater range of applications under its portfolio. Widen a drilled hole and facilitates subsequent tapping with Countersinking, whereas Deburring will remove the burr on the drill hole for safety and/or optical reasons. They come in standard sizes of included angles 60°, 82°, 90° to fit most head screws. The selection of right countersink angle depends on the application and works well with low cutting speed. Furthermore, a cross-hole through the head forms two cutting edges. This also prevents jamming the machining operation as removed chips are transported away via the hole. Carrying forward a century-old tradition since 1918, Weldon has made significant contributions to specialty cutting tools. It has credited the industry with a number of innovations like the Weldon Zero Flute Countersink, the Weldon Crest Kut in high-speed steel, and Weldon's Tri-Power, solid carbide, end mill for aluminum. Nonetheless, when you purchase a Weldon product, you are not only buying a tool, you will also receive the best customer and technical support in the industry.

Benefits

  • Can be readily attached to machine tools such as drill press, lathe, machining center, etc.
  • Cross-hole cores give clean results and are easy to handle.
  • Countersinks remain free cutting and chatterless, giving a smooth finish on the workpiece.
  • Fast stock removal is possible with a single cutting edge and a cross-hole.
  • Tools made from High Speed Steel can be used to cut a wide variety of workpiece material.
  • Handy when trying to insert a bolt, nail or screw flush with the drilled material.

Applications

  • Countersinks are mainly used for countersinking drill holes, countersinking screws and deburring.
  • Countersinking tools are applied in grinding center holes, positioning holes, grinding holes, or deburring and rounding the edges after side-surface machining.
  • Ideally used as accurate center holes on a range of workpiece material including metal, wood, brass, aluminum.

Features

  • Double-ended, straight shank Countersinking & Deburring Tool.
  • Made from High Speed Steel for longer tool life.
  • Standard sizes include 60°, 82°, 90°
  • Shank diameter fits any 3/16 inch or 1/4 inch drill chuck.
