Drill Doctor Sharpener for Sharp Drilling Bits. Drill Doctor makes the sharpening of dull and broken drill bits comfortable and quicker. It allows for standard 118° or 135° angle sharpening of various bits, such as high-speed steel, carbide, tin-coated, cobalt, masonry, and bits with a split point. Moreover, you can carve out split points on standard bits with this sharpening machine. Varying angles help you customize your drill bits. Drill Doctor 500X sharpening machine can sharpen 3/32 to 1/2 inch large threading bits, either standard or twisted ones. For achieving precision, the machine uses one-piece alignment with flexible adjusting methods. The jaws of the sharpening chuck are longer so that they can hold the bit accurately to get the best results. Moreover, jaw guides are provided to prevent the twisting of jaws when holding smaller bits. The chuck has to be rotated in an even number of half turns (from 20 to 40 half turns) with light pressure applied. Along with standard sharpening ports, a split-point port is also provided on the Drill Doctor Sharpener to be used for sharpening the split-point bits or carving out a split point on standard bits. The metal split-point port is designed to prevent over-splitting. Further, the diamond 180-grit sharpening wheel offers super-sharp bits, and they can be replaced easily with new grit wheels if they are worn out after prolonged use. Drill Doctor 500X drill bit sharpener weighs 15 lbs., and it comes in a tough and durable case. It is a precision tool, and thus, it has to be cleaned regularly to remove dust and grit that can harm the ports and chucks.
