Machine Shop Solutions

Problem: Traditional collet chuck designs may not offer the gripping force or improved features required for modern machining applications. Solution: A specially-designed ball bearing nut collet chuck offers highly improved grip and performance, as well as coolant thru capabilities.

50% More Gripping Power With Ball Bearing Nut

The Precision ER is your higher quality alternative to traditional chucks, and features a hardened nickel chrome molybdenum alloy body that's G6.3 balanced to 18,000 RPM. An installed ball bearing nut provides up to 50% more grip than standard nut options, and matches the chuck size for greater rigidity and durability. The larger design prevents chips from packing in or wrapping around components but still allows adequate coolant thru capability during machining.

Benefits

  • Equipped with back-up screw, these collet chucks have coolant-thru capability - no disc, special nut or wrench required.

Features

Collet Chucks
  • TIR: <.0001" at collet face
  • Made from nickel chrome molybdenum alloy, hardened to 55 - 58 Rc.
  • Ground surface for perpendicular contact between retention knob and holder.
  • AT3 or better taper contact: .0028° tolerance variation 80 to 126 millionths
  • Drive keys milled to same depth for symmetrical body design.
  • Body is equal in diameter to the size of the nut for greater rigidity and also prevents chips from packing in or wrapping around the ER ball bearing nuts (installed).
  • Ground collet face.
  • Smooth to prevent coolant flare and provide better balance.
  • Provide 50% more gripping power than standard nuts.
